Simon Spurr Fall 2012 Review
It is safe to say that Simon Spurr’s Fall 2012 Show was one of the best shows from New York Fashion Week. Yes, I am aware that it is a bold statement but just look at the pictures below- Perfection.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that this season is all about the return of the suit. The “Gentleman” is a clear theme for fall with structured separates and fine suiting plastered all over the runways. Suiting can become a bit boring, but Simon Spurr knows exactly how to do it right and keep it fresh. With fine fabrics, good tailoring and excellent detail, the Simon Spurr Fall 2012 Collection was a pleasure to watch. Now you know that I am a denim gal, and this collection did not have one single denim pant! The even crazier thing is… I liked it. All of it. As the show began my eyes kept catching glimmers of silver buttons on jackets and umbrella handles, widened with joy at the mix of materials such as leather sleeves on a wool suit and couldn’t stop starting at the enlarged houndstooth print. It was quite the show as i’m assuming front row attendies Joe Jonas and Kellan Lutz could account for.
Although Spurr’s color pallet was a bit cold (mostly navy blues, greys and blacks) it was cool without being boring. Check out the pics below from the Fall 2012 collection and let me know what you think!
