J. Crew Fall 2012 Presentation Review
J.Crew Color. Texture. Tailoring. These were all words that came to mind while I viewed the J. Crew Fall 2012 Collection at Lincoln Center during New York Fashion Week. I can not begin to tell you how impressed I was with the entire collection! For their women’s line J. Crew showed beautiful brights- pinks, oranges, corals, blues and even some shiny metallics. The styling was exceptional and each model looked perfectly put together, but not overdone. Translate: I wanted every piece in this collection. For the woman who is sophisticated, feminine, powerful yet playful, Fall 2012 is going to be a huge hit. One of my favorite pieces in this collection happened to be a tweed blouse and pant paired with a burnt orange turtle neck underneath. The fit on those pants… I died. The second those hit stores you will see them on my body, and yes, you can quote me on that.
As for their men’s line, J. Crew did not disappoint. What I thought would be hard to compare to the women’s turned out to be a perfect pairing. Had you placed a female and male model next to each other during this presentation, you would give up on ever trying to find a couple that looked that damn good. The men’s line featured slim suiting in navy, sweaters with a shawl collar, slim leg denim and killer shoes. Mustard yellow, navy, black and grey were dominate colors within the collection. J. Crew showed one really cool coat with toggles and a slim fit suit that my boyfriend needs right now.
Some of the industry’s most loved were present including Anna Dello Russo, Joe Zee and Derek Blasberg. I even watched as Coco Rocha interviewed some attendees. Be on the lookout for this collection when it hits stores this fall because trust me, you are going to want to look like this:
